Tim Fahey biked all across the country from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean and shared lots of stories about that challenging trip in his book, The Fun Mover Chronicles.
I’m not sure I would call that trip fun, but I’m glad Tim somehow enjoyed it. I did enjoy his book although I won’t be hitting the road to bike across the country.
Tim met many interesting, and some disturbing, people along the way, and his stories about those encounters are really good. The physical challenges of the trip probably would be enough to discourage most people, especially those steep mountains which required a lot of walking alongside the bike.
Tim had various other bikers join him at different points in his trip and oftentimes tented out, sometimes in really nasty places and very poor weather. He also had what he called zero days where he took time off, rented a motel room and got some rest.
that Tim, when he started, was an out of shape mid-50s guy, you have to admire his courage and determination to bike 4200 miles.
And here’s some really good news. He made it!
